Matt is a partner with Myers and Stauffer in our Owings Mills office, and brings over 20 years of experience, with the past 15 years being focused on working with health care and government-related entities. He works closely with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), including the Medicare Parts C & D Oversight and Enforcement Group, conducting managed care performance audits of federal Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations. Additionally, Matt collaborates with the CMS Office of Financial Management to review corrective action plans (CAPs) for MCOs and PACE programs and has supported the CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation by auditing costs tied to the Enhanced Medication Therapy Management program. Beyond his work with CMS, he also manages a PACE licensure, oversight, and value-based purchasing initiative for a state client.
Before joining Myers and Stauffer, Matt served as the director of accounting and reimbursement for a large nonprofit, multi-hospital health care system. There, he oversaw month- and year-end financial reporting, annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, and audit coordination for financial statements and cost filings. He also has a background in public accounting, working with national and regional firms to deliver assurance and advisory services to nonprofit and financial-services organizations.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in MD, VA, and PA and a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs, and the American Institute of CPAs.
