Matt is a partner with Myers and Stauffer in our Owings Mills office, and has more than 19 years of overall experience, with the last 12 being focused on working with health care and government-related entities. He works with federal government clients and conducts managed care performance audits of federal managed care organizations (MCOs) and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations. He also works with federal government clients conducting reviews of corrective actions plans (CAP) from MCOs and PACE organizations and performing audit procedures to ensure accurate submission of costs related to the Enhanced Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program. In addition to his work with federal government clients, he also manages and oversees the PACE licensure and oversight and value-based purchasing (VBP) project for a dedicated state client.
Prior to his experience at Myers and Stauffer, Matt worked as a director of accounting and reimbursement for large non-profit multi-hospital health care systems, where he was responsible for overseeing the reporting of month- and year-end financial statements as well as annual Medicare and Medicaid cost report filings. He served as the primary contact for audits of the hospital system’s financial statements and cost report filings. He has also worked in public accounting with a major accounting firm and regional accounting firms offering assurance and advisory services to non-profit and financial-services clients.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), certified in Virginia and a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
