Colleen is a partner with Myers and Stauffer in our Kansas City office, and has more than 12 years of experience and is active in providing public accounting services to state Medicaid agencies related to health care reimbursement. She serves as a project manager on various disproportionate share hospital (DSH) audit contracts. She is primarily responsible for Medicaid DSH examinations in five states, with a supporting role in five additional states. She directs staff on the daily activities of various Medicaid contracts, and her duties include communicating with hospitals and clients, collecting and analyzing data for various projects, training, and supervisory reviews. She also manages DSH payment calculations involving DSH modeling and review calculations based on the state plan, as well as helping clients with state plan amendments.
Colleen is experienced in multi-level compliance reviews of COVID-19 grant funding and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant-administration processes. Most recently, she has been assisting a state client with a fiscal review of their FEMA-reimbursable contract that covers a review of COVID-19 workforce entering the state and the associated labor and non-labor costs.
Colleen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
