Colleen is a partner with Myers and Stauffer in our Kansas City office and has more than 14 years of experience providing public accounting services to state Medicaid agencies related to health care reimbursement. She directs staff on the daily activities of various Medicaid contracts, including communicating with hospitals and clients, collecting and analyzing data for projects, training, and supervisory reviews.
Colleen serves as a partner over multiple disproportionate share hospital (DSH) audit contracts and is heavily involved in Medicaid DSH examinations and reimbursement programs in South Dakota, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Florida, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
She has significant experience in multi-level compliance reviews of grant funding and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant-administration processes. Colleen assisted a state client with a comprehensive review of grant funding and administration, including contract analysis, policy and procedure compliance, sub-awardee disbursement review, and preparation of issue summaries with recommendations for improvement. Most recently, she has supported audits, uninsured program assessments, and lost revenue assessments, coordinating updates and deadlines across multiple teams and preparing information for key client meetings. Her grant experience spans state and federal grants related to FEMA, HRSA, ARPA, and other grant funding under Uniform Guidance standards.
Colleen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
