Supporting Government Investigations, Enforcement Actions, & Complex Litigation

We provide forensic accounting, expert witness, and litigation support services primarily to federal and state government agencies. Our work supports investigations, enforcement actions, and complex litigation matters requiring detailed financial analysis, clinical and coding expertise, defensible methodologies, and clear, well-supported conclusions.

Our experience includes supporting cases arising from whistleblower (Qui Tam) actions and adult protective services, as well as investigations led by Offices of Inspector General (OIG), Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCUs), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and other enforcement entities. In these matters, we provide independent analysis to help evaluate allegations, quantify damages, and support litigation and recovery efforts on behalf of government programs.

In select cases where the federal government declines to intervene, we may also support legal counsel pursuing Qui Tam matters, applying the same independent, objective methodologies used in our government engagements. This work remains aligned with our focus on protecting the integrity of government-funded programs and ensuring appropriate use of public funds.

While much of our work is based in public health and human services programs, including Medicaid and other federally funded programs, our capabilities extend across a range of government-funded initiatives. We understand the specialized requirements of these engagements, including regulatory compliance, evidentiary standards, and the need for clear, defensible analysis. Our multidisciplinary team includes Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigators (AHFI), clinicians, coding specialists, and data analysts, allowing us to evaluate complex financial and clinical issues within a single, integrated framework.

We perform detailed financial analysis to support investigations involving potential fraud, improper payments, financial misreporting, and misuse of public funds. • Financial investigations and fund tracing.
  • Identification and analysis of improper payments.
  • Cost and billing reconstruction.
  • Data analysis to identify anomalies and risk areas.
  • Review of provider records, claims, and supporting documentation.
  • Support for investigations conducted by federal agencies, OIG, and MFCUs.

We provide expert analysis and testimony to support government agencies in litigation and enforcement actions. Our team delivers clear, defensible opinions grounded in thorough analysis and extensive program knowledge.

Qui Tam, or whistleblower, actions are an important component of enforcement efforts involving government-funded programs, particularly in public health care and grant-funded environments.

We support these matters by providing independent financial, clinical, and data analyses to evaluate allegations, quantify damages, and develop defensible findings for use in litigation.

Our work includes:

  • Analysis of claims, billing, and financial data to assess alleged misconduct.
  • Damages calculations and estimation of potential recoveries.
  • Review of clinical documentation and coding practices.
  • Development of expert reports and litigation support materials.

We most often support government agencies in matters arising from whistleblower filings. In select cases where the federal government declines to intervene, we also provide support to legal counsel pursuing Qui Tam actions, applying the same objective, evidence-based methodologies used in our government engagements.

We provide specialized forensic and investigative support to APS programs, with a focus on financial exploitation and abuse cases involving vulnerable populations. Our team assists in analyzing financial activity, documenting findings, and supporting case development in coordination with state agencies, law enforcement, and legal teams.
