Myers & Stauffer is engaged to perform federally-mandated independently certified audits of the state of Texas disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payment program and also performs annual uncompensated care distribution final reconciliations.
Disproportionate Share Hospital Examinations
In order to comply with the federal regulation regarding disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments issued by CMS on December 19, 2008, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has contracted with Myers & Stauffer to perform the mandated audits. (See Federal Register Vol. 73, No. 245, December 19, 2008, rules and regulations.)
Uncompensated Care Waiver Program Final Reconciliation
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has also contracted with Myers & Stauffer to perform a reconciliation of finalized costs to uncompensated care (UC) distributions made to participating hospitals under the Section 1115 Texas Healthcare Transformation and Quality Improvement Program Waiver.
